What Guy Kawasaki learned from Steve Jobs

It's always amazed me that more companies don't follow Apple's path of eschewing market research. Of course, it helps if the guy steering the ship has exceptional taste and judgement. More...

It's nearly impossible to securely erase a Solid-State Drive. My question is this: Who cares? If you need to perform a secure erase then you're doing it wrong. More...

WikiLeaks, Assange, and Manning - a Nuanced View

I've had a lot of discussions--both online and off-- about WikiLeaks and Bradley Manning. My opinion on the subject is somewhat nuanced: WikiLeaks is generally a positive force for transparency and accountability, but Manning committed a crime. Contrary to popular belief, these are NOT mutually exclusive views. More...

John Nack on Adobe : Adobe demos amazing deblurring tech (new video)

Once again, my employer must be engaged in the use of some sort of black magic. Incredible technology. j.mp/mOL6uV (via @jnack)

Now, here’s the thing: This is just a technology demo, not a pre-announced feature. It’s very exciting, but much hard work remains to be done. Check out details right from the researchers via the Photsohop.com team blog.

Holy mackeral!!! That is some sort of hoodoo voodoo. Amazing stuff. I am guessing since it was a sneak it is too early to expect that technology on my phone or current point-and-shoot huh?
Wow this is amazing! Now, how will it work on an out of focus lens? All the images they used in the “sneak” appeared blurry do to the shutter being open too long, versus an out of focus lens? With a “steady/handheld” long shutter exposure, the picture might show a clearer image during the peak of the movement just before it reverses or changes direction. … hence the ghosting image. So does the plugin compare the ghost images and interpolate the movement from it? Either way, VERY COOL!
Don't know, and if I did I wouldn't be able to say. However, based purely on what is said in the demo they are extrapolating motion paths, so one could surmise that it would only handle motion blur... but that's the root cause of most ruined snapshots, not actually being out of focus.
